Sorry to take so long to get back to the blog. I read the material and it didn't seem to be clear to me. I need to see the big picture of how one movement led to the other and cultural influences as well. I am not in Mc Guire's Contemporary Art Class and I have never studied some of the movements of the last 30 or so years so... I decided to go ahead and buy the Contemporary Art book and start reading it to get up to speed. That helped quite a bit. I think I fall into more into the Formalist camp with the flatness of the picture plane...but I do like the play on the illusion of space and would like to combine the two if I can. I'm not sure if my content is the landscape or maybe it has been about the paint, shapes, colors, mark making all along?
